Happy Retirement Grampy!

So we TOTALLY surprised Rick at the clinic and were his last patients. Jared, Reef, Cyndi, Uncle Ken, Aunt Di and I were all in exam room 1 waiting with a cold beverage to usher him out from his last day working. IT was hilarious trying to keep quiet with 5 adults and a baby who were all excited. We thought for sure we were going to be exposed when someone (I won't mention any names) tooted while trying to keep the baby quiet. Rick was right outside the door when this happened and we contained our laughter pretty well. Rick was pleasantly surprised to see all of us and gladly accepted the cold beverage (read: beer!) Jared, Ken and I all got adjusted and we piled into the cars to head to Mulligan's where the rest of the crowd was waiting.

The crowd at Mulligan's was great and we even had two special surprise guests all the way from Illinois! After the party at Mulligan's we headed over to Lazlo's for a late dinner. Unca Joe, Auntie Ivy, Jared and I had to sit at the "Kids" table as they only had a table for 10 and there were 10 "adults"! That was alright as Joe and Ivy enjoyed spending time with Reef and us as well. It was a great evening enjoyed by all.

Happy Halloween!

So today was a VERY busy day as we had plenty to do. First, we needed a bath because it was bath day AND we had a humongous blow out in the morning! Next, we had to dress in our Halloween OUTFIT so we could go see Katie Freeman's costume and hang out with grammy. Then, we met grampy for lunch at Braeda for his last work day lunch. He didn't know we would be surprising him at work later that day and then having a surprise retirement party also! We then hung out at Grammys until it was time to go surprise grampy at work.

We had to buy a new Halloween costume because the hand me downs from Scoie and Cooper were TOO small. They were a size 3-6 mos and we bought the cute penguin costume in a 6-12 mos!

First trip to the park

After the mall we headed to the park at 66th & Vine since it's so close. The girls were getting restless after lunch so we decided since it's such a nice day we should take advantage of it. It was so nice to sit outside and talk and get some fresh air. We started out swinging and Reef had a blast. He really can't do anything else yet, so it was fun to watch the other kids play.

Girls Day Out...

Reef and I headed to the mall again today to meet up with 3 of my friends from college. Breanna (36 weeks prego w/ twin boys)& her 3 1/2 year old daughter, Ella; Alisha & her 2 1/2 year old daughter, Addison; Jody (21 weeks prego with her first baby, a girl) and Me & Reef. It was a good time catching up and strolling around the mall with the girls & Reef. I found a pair of jeans that fit and look good while I'm still in the transition stage. We found Breanna a Halloween "costume", a shirt from Steve & Barry's that says Beer Belly on Board and points down! And of course we had to stop at The Children's place to get some cute clothes for the kids. I got Reef's 6 month/Christmas picture outfit.

Star Sighting

So Reef and I went shopping with Breanna and Ella today and who do we see while eating lunch but Blue October front man, Justin Furstenfeld, his wife Lisa, and daughter Blue. I was too giddy to actually go up to him and talk, but I couldn't help but stare. I'm pretty sure he knew I recognized him as I couldn't stop looking at him. It looked as if he was pretty comfortable with not getting attacked with fans at the "small town" mall in Nebraska. I have been a fan of Blue October for about 10 years now, so I know some info about him. The first concert Jared and I went to together (was the night we met as well) was a Blue October concert. I'm not sure if he was playing a concert around here ( I'm pretty sure they're not, as I probably would've known) or just in town b/c his wife is from here. Anywho, it was a nice upset to a normal day!

NOT SO FUN!

NOT SO FUN... I woke up at 2:45 am to pray to the porcelin god. Not sure what is going on, maybe a touch of food poisoning? Maybe my stomach/intestinal issues from Wednesday still haven't been resolved. We were planning on going to First Lutheran this morning (we're finally getting back on track with the church finding) but I wasn't feeling up to ANYTHING. My wonderful husband took care of Reef while I got some sleep (almost until noon, with one feeding interruption!!) So far, the rest of the day has proved to be pretty normal. Hopefully everything is fine, although I think Reef may have picked up something as he is coughing and not sleeping well this evening.

Go Huskers/ Reef's first babysitter

We had 4 tickets to the football game today so that meant that Cyndi and I were going to go (weather permitting!) and cheer on the 'Skers. It was a GORGEOUS morning and afternoon so we were able to enjoy a morning of tailgating with egg casserole, bacon, sausage, sticky buns, screwdrivers, bloody mary's and BUD LIGHT! Good breakfast, right?

First we had to drop Reef off at his first young babysitters (that wasn't a granny or grampy, or older cousin Jen Becwar) cousin Rachel Freeman. They had a good time hanging out with Letti, Katie and some of Letti's family. He was a good boy (as always) and we will be calling again!

Cyndi and I only stayed for the first half as I just am not ready to be away from my boy for long periods of time, especially since he's teething and sometimes cranky! We had to first swing by my friend Breanna's to get my cell phone that I forgot on Friday night! oops. Then we picked Reef up and headed back to the Rohrs'. Grammy, Reef and I had a fun afternoon hanging out, then Jared and Rick got back and we had even more fun. We ate some Skeeter Barnes ( yum, yum!) and watched some more football.
