End of the school year

As the end of the school year comes to a close, I've been super busy! I guess it's a good thing, financially, since I will only have one more paycheck from LPS for the summer (I get paid once a month!)

I figured out of the last 3 weeks of school I would only work a couple days, but I have worked 6 1/2 so far! I'm not banking on working the last 4 this coming week, but who knows?!?

It has been a good year, but I'm looking forward to spending the summer with Reef and working as a substitute for a daycare near my house. My friend Karli is also starting a Montessori school so I will be helping her out, too.

Baby you can drive my car

Reef has been enjoying his car, but still hasn't quite gotten the hang of pushing himself along with his feet. It is funny watching him mount and dismount because it's not always graceful!

As I've said in previous blogs, playing outside is his favorite, so I can't wait to get a little pool and more outside toys to play with!

Memorial Day weekend

We went out to my parents cabin on Johnson Lake this weekend and it was a blast! We got to ride the boat, ride the jet ski, eat good food, catch up with my bro and sis-in-law, and many more fun things.

Reef enjoyed all the time we got to play outside, as did Enzo! It is going to be fun seeing Reef get to grow up at the lake. It was still quite cold to get into the water for Reef, but we did dip our toes in and he loved swinging his legs and splashing the water.

Reef did however find my dad's skoal cans and thought they made the perfect size toy and since there were 2 of them, it was even better (if you know how Reef likes to play with 2 matching toys for each hand, it makes sense!) This lasted as long as I could get a picture and then we put them up!
We even got to have a picnic on the boat one day! Reef's traveling high chair buckled into a metal handle on the boat and made the perfect safe seat for him to eat and ride. {Will be posting these pictures later as mom was the only one with her camera on the boat.

The neighbor caught a huge fish, 6 1/2 pounds, so all around came to see what the excitement was about!

It was a great weekend and I can't wait to go back, when the water is warmer!

The jet ski got a face lift

As some of you know, we bought a used jet ski several years ago. It is a grandfather of jet skis (it's a '91) so the colors weren't appealing to Jared. He decided to give it a face lift himself and here is the final product.

We later found out that the outdoor paint he used, doesn't quite stick when submerged in water and when you are going 40 mph! It doesn't look bad, it just is back to the original color on the base of the ski.

KIWI

Eating kiwi is so much fun, especially when you get the seeds stuck all over your face! I thought it looked like Reef had bugs all over, so I had to snap the pic!

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our fruits!

Flower boy?!?

Reef loves to play with the calla lily bouquets from our wedding. He is always dragging them around and biting the yellow inner part out. I think we may have a flower boy on our hand...who says they have to be girls! Anybody want to hire him for your wedding? He's available!

I'm a climber...

Lately Reef has been getting into EVERYTHING. Cupboards, closets, shoe baskets, bouncers, bumbos and climbing on boxes. It is quite funny seeing him get into/onto things and then trying to get out of them!

Swimming!

So these are from our weekend in Omaha back at the beginning of the month. I don't know if I just got blogged out, or if Reef walking...no, RUNNING around now just makes me more tired and I haven't felt up to posting. Although it just seems that I blog about the same old stuff: I watched the twins, we went to the zoo, we went on a walk, we hung out with friends...blah, blah, blah...I'm sure if I get tired of writing it, it gets boring to read! Maybe in the future when I look back, it will be cool, so I'm going to continue, but probably just once a week. There will be pictures, of course, and if something REALLY interesting happened, such as someone's 1st birthday, there might be more, but for now, I think once a week will suffice!

Enjoy our pool pics. Reef is a water baby and LOVES the water. He wasn't too thrilled about the back float, as you can tell by the tenseness! He was putting his own face in the water a few times and he and daddy took a dunk together. That was quite a sight! Similar reaction to when he puts his head down when I'm trying to rinse the shampoo out of his hair. All in all, a great time at the pool and in Omaha.

Adventures in Babysitting...Twins + Reef

t

This month I have watched the twins a bunch as McPhee needed Breanna A LOT of times to sub. I didn't mind it because it meant spending more time with Reef, too! The twins are almost 6 months old (tomorrow, actually) so it's been easier and they still take great naps for me!

Reef loves watching Max and Oscar and sometimes he'll even try to play with them, baby-style. The boys also love watching Reef walk around the room and explore. They are moving themselves, slowly and I'm sure any day they will be scooting or even crawling!

Look at my TEETH!

Not what you were expecting, right??? We found these teeth at Breanna's while I was watching the boys + Ella (with the help of Kimberley Mueller-Malone) and I couldn't resist putting them in Reef's mouth and getting a picture. Of course when I first put them in his mouth I didn't have my camera ready, so it took awhile to capture this "toothy" grin!

This was also Reef's first time eating a whole banana (not cut up.)

Teach 'em Young

Reef loves getting into boxes and putting things in them or pulling things out of them, so we were not too surprised to find him walking around with a Bud Light while we were watching TV! We had an open case of beer sitting out (look behind Reef) and being the smart guy he is, he fished one out and used it as a teether! Now if we could only get him to open the fridge and pull out a cool one...

GREAT WEEKEND!

We had an EXCELLENT weekend with friends and shopping and lounging.

Friday night: Once Reef and I arrived at the Embassy Suites it was nearly time for Happy Hour, so we had a few drinks and then headed over to Borsheims at Regency Court for Berkshire-Hathaway's Cocktail party. It was CROWDED! Much to be expected though. We had a good time wading through gobs of people and waiting 15 minutes for a couple of beers. We hung out by Pottery Barn Kids (cute stuff, by the way) because Reef was entertained by the toys and things there!

We didn't stay too long because we were meeting Jen Mohlman and Pat & Lindsay (Wittstruck) Eisenmenger for supper. Along the way there Reef fell asleep so Rick and Cyndi headed back to the Embassy to put him down and eat by themselves. We had a good time eating, drinking and catching up and called it an early night because we all had things to do in the morning (HOW OLD ARE WE???)

Saturday: We got up and ate a fine breakfast at the hotel and then we headed down to the Quest center where many of Berkshire-Hathaway's companies had booths set up with their products to show and sell. Jared and I walked out of there with a couple pairs of Born shoes and Cyndi got a good deal on some gardening gloves!

Next we headed to Nebraska furniture mart (another of Warren Buffet's companies) so seek out some good deals. Of course we found some and we had a good time people watching as well.

Then we were off to the Fox & Hound for lunch. We stuffed ourselves and headed to Grandma Glennie's new place. It was beautiful, although GG (that's what we call her for Great Grandma) was having a tough time adjusting. Hopefully it's a quick transition for her and she starts enjoying her time!

Back to the hotel for some lounging and SWIMMING! Reef enjoyed the water, as did Rick, Jared and I. (pictures coming soon) We relaxed and then it was time for another cocktail hour! Lindsay came and joined us and then we all headed to her place to check out the landscaping her crew (Jen, Pat, Steph, Marc, Lucy and herself) got done that day. We also enjoyed some pizza and beer!

Sunday: This morning we had a great breakfast again and then Reef, Cyndi and I walked over to Cabella's (sp?) to see all the animals. We checked out around noon and then Jared, Reef and I headed over to Brent & Jenn's to go out to lunch. We ate at Charlston's (sp?) and had great food and conversation.

We met Jen & Lindsay at Oakview mall for a couple hours before Jen had to fly back home that evening. Finally, we were on our way back home after a Fun, long weekend in Omaha!

MAY DAY!!!

Today was Reef's first May Day! We didn't make any baskets this year, but we did receive one from Cooper & Scoie (Matt & Jen, too, of course!) We had a crazy house going on today because I was babysitting the twins and my friend Kim came over to help and get her baby fix in the morning. Then Grammy showed up because she knew I had the twins and was in the neighborhood. Then Jen and Cooper showed up (Scoie was at a playdate) and finally Grampy came to help Grammy go get Jared's car from work and put it in the garage (he was already in Omaha and we are staying up there all weekend.)

By 12:30 it was just me and the babies again. The afternoon flew by and soon Reef and I were on our way to Omaha to meet daddy, grammy and grampy at the Embassy Suites in LaVista.
