House Update

We have found a couple houses we really like and one of them sold in the past couple days (we were on our way to it's open house for a 2nd viewing and when we got there, there was a SOLD sign...) So we headed over to another of our favorites and walked around it's open house when Jared and I realized we had better put an offer on the table (with a contingency of course) so another wouldn't walk out from under us. We have it narrowed down to our 2 favorites and they are similar, but different. We will meet with our realtor and have her help us with all that entails with an offer!

In our house news...we've had 2 open houses with 3 groups coming (1 the first and 2 the second) and then on Tuesday and Thursday of this week our house got showed as well. Not too shabby for 3 weeks on the market...but I'm hoping someone will soon fall in love (although it's hard when there are about 6 other townhomes in our neighborhood for sale as well! and 3 more that just sold...)

Hopefully we will be able to give GREAT news very soon of our new home! :)

SNOW

Here are pics back from January when the snow was WAY up the window! I'm so thankful that we can finally see some grass...is springtime near??? Let's hope so!

Future Gamer??

Reef likes to sit on Daddy's lap sometimes while he's playing games...Not sure what to think about this one yet! Oh well, it's daddy/baby time and Jared really likes it, so as long as the game isn't too violent...and Reef can't pick up on it, I suppose a few minutes isn't going to kill him!

Laundry Container fun!!!

It was laundry day and Reef decided to experiment and was "hiding" in his laundry bag! He was walking around with it over his head saying "hide!" What a nut!

Big Boy Bed...

So, we have a monkey on our hands and he has been climbing out of his crib and pack and plays inconsistently for the past 3 months....and finally it has turned consistent. We had to turn his crib into a "toddler" bed without the drop down side and 2- 1/4 safety sides. I didn't get a picture taken before Reef went to bed and I must say, I worried more about the transition than I needed to. I sat on the floor and patted his back until he was pretty drowsy. I left and he OF COURSE got out of bed and followed me (I could hear him through the door.) He cried a bit, but then I heard him get back into bed and haven't heard him since. I gave him about 30 min. to really fall asleep and checked on him...He was in bed sleeping!

I don't know why I was so worried about this....hopefully it will stay just fine like this and I will be able to tell other moms who are worried about this transition!

I just didn't think that at 19 months, he would be ready, but he sure showed me! He probably would've been fine a month ago when he first started crawling out of his crib!

Pictures to follow! And Grammy and Grampy bought him some "big boy" sheets for his bed....Elmo & friends. He has recently become a HUGE Elmo fan and I'm sure it's from daycare b/c we really don't watch TV at home...at least not kids shows....YET! He mimicks each characters name after we say them and loves Elmo & Cookie! Jared and I love the way he says Ernie (Uhhh nie) and Oscar (Ok ar)!

Pretties

Reef loves finding "pretties" and wearing them. He likes beads, necklaces, hair accessories and much, much more!

And then there was none...

So I thought Reef was weaning himself about a month ago, and it lasted for about 3 days (which I believe is the "magic" number for children to get used to things) and then he was back on like a mad man! Well, I think it has been about a week or so now that he hasn't nursed! It is weird, but at the same time, I think we were both ready. I really wanted him to wean himself especially since he was such a "boob man" (and what man isn't!?!?!?) He has asked for my milk a couple times but I just tell him it's all gone and ask him if he wants in in a cup and he seems cool with that.

When I started this nursing adventure nearly 20 months ago I just wanted to make it to a year. Little did I know that it would be almost 2! I am thankful that I was able to provide this for him (and I can definitely see the benefits as he really hasn't been sick!) and that it helped me lose those lovely 60 lbs. that I gained while growing him (plus a few more!)

I am just heart broken when I hear of people who don't nurse their children and I understand there are many reasons why some women can't. But if you can...DO! It might seem time consuming (especially the pumping) but the positives outweigh the negatives 100 times over!

I will now get off my soapbox and go get my baby ready to go! :)

Getting ready to put the house on the market!

Reef was a BIG helper when we were cleaning and getting everything ready to put the house on the market! He actually is pretty good at picking up his toys and if I ask him to put something somewhere, he USUALLY does it!

In the first photo he was playing in his room and got ahold of the baby powder....NOT a pretty sight! It will smell baby powder fresh in his room for days!

Our house IS on the market through Home Realty...so if you know anyone interested in a 3b/3b townhome in SE Lincoln....It's a great first home!

Snow, snow....GO AWAY!!!

Reef LOVES playing in the snow, so I decided before it got too cold, I would let him play in the snow a bit! He ate some and fell down some and had a blast. We even walked around our house to go to the park! He DIDN'T have a blast when I made him come in! Oh well, you win some and you lose some!

I can't wait for this snow to melt!

Sink fun!

So I usually let Reef play with water in the sink. He's USUALLY really well behaved and will play with toys and cups and transfer water from one side of the sink to the other and so on. I turned my back to start making supper and to put a few dishes away and when I turned around, this is what I saw!

Needless to say, I decided I needed to keep my eye on him the next time we played in the sink.
